Parents are reassured to know that our Level II nursery is equipped to take care of premature babies, or babies who are born requiring specialized care. From women requiring gyn or breast surgery to treatment of menopause, osteoporosis, to ERT (estrogen replacement therapy) the Women’s LifeCare Center is a source of knowledge, care, and comfort for the women and families in our community.

Aiken Regional Medical Centers’ Cancer Care Institute of Carolina is the most comprehensive cancer treatment center in the region. This
$7 million cancer treatment institute brings the fight against this
terrible disease to a new level of success for our area. The highest
quality cancer treatment is available in Aiken County and the need to
travel to receive advanced cancer treatment is a thing of the past. |

Construction of a new Emergency Room and a
consolidated Intensive Care Unit began in September 2003 and will
proceed through the predicted completion in Spring 2005. The increase
from 19 to 34 beds in the ER will mean a dramatic reduction in waiting
time. The waiting and admitting areas in the Emergency Department and
the outpatient area will triple in size as well. The new 36-bed ICU will
be added as a second floor above the new Emergency Room.
